The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has been involved in various coup attempts and covert operations since its creation in 1947. Here are some examples of CIA coups since 1948:

Iran, 1953: The CIA orchestrated a coup that overthrew Iranian Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadegh, who had nationalized Iran's oil industry. The coup restored the power of the Shah, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, who was friendly to the United States.
