Wood Turning a Potato Vase

I've woodturned some pretty cool things since I got my lathe about 9 months ago. Also I made this... This vase that sort of looks like a potato with resin inlay. I had such grand visions in my head of what this would look like. And then it just kept not looking how I wanted and I had to try to salvage it before I ruined it completely. I think I would be less frustrated how this project turned out if it hadn't taken half a day to hollow out that end grain!
