Wood Turning Push Pins

I thought woodturning a vase out of push pins and resin would be cool, but little did I know that most push pins are made out of steel. As it turns out, steel is very hard metal... It wore down and chipped my carbide cutters in mere seconds, and I barley made a dent. I had planned to make a nice v shaped vase, but that would have taken weeks and every carbide cutter ever made! In the end the vase still looks pretty cool, but next time I brave putting metal on my lathe I will try aluminum or some softer metal!

This was also my first time using TotalBoat resin, and now I see why so many woodworkers use it!
