Refueling in the air.
An airplane needs a lot to fly. And oils and liquids and various technical gases. But most of all in flight, the aircraft consumes fuel. The tactical radius of a firebomber and its flight time depend on the fuel reserve. Therefore, all firebombers and most tactical aircraft are equipped with an in-flight refueling system. Moreover, if necessary, they can refuel not only from a huge flying barrel of the Il-78 type (which can refuel three aircraft at a time, if it is very necessary, but two refuel calmly), but also from their own kind. In this case, an UPAZ is hung on a colleague and that's it. In the past, air refueling was the most difficult element of training, and it is still a difficult element, but due to normal training, it does not now present any particular difficulty, day or night. But of course, you can suffer a hell of a lot of fear.) From the jokes, I can note that more fuel gets into the plane in the air than on the ground, and it refuels many times faster.
