Fr. Mark White was born and raised in Washington D.C. He studied undergrad and seminary at Catholic University of America. He was ordained in 2003 to serve in the Archdiocese of Washington, by then Archbishop Theodore McCarrick. Fr. Mark served in parishes in the city, Montgomery County, and Prince George's County, Maryland. In 2011, he fulfilled his dream of going to serve in a diocese more in-need of priests, by transferring to the diocese of Richmond to serve in southwest Virginia as pastor of St. Joseph in Martinsville and St. Francis in Rocky Mount.

Fr. Mark was suspended from ministry by his bishop in 2020, for blogging about clerical sex-abuse, especially the McCarrick case. (The bishop is a McCarrick protege.)

Fr. Mark is the author of Ordained by a Predator: Becoming a Priest in the Middle of a Criminal Conspiracy. He lives now in the Blue Ridge foothills as a kind of hermit-priest, praying and studying, especially about the sex-abuse crisis in the Church.
