Turkish Brigade Assesses Villagers' Health After Earthquake Hit Hatay

The Turkey Ministry of National Defense clip shows the 9th Commando Brigade of Turkey performing Health assessments for villagers after another earthquake hit the country, killing at least six people.

The 6.4 magnitude second earthquake hits Hatay province, Turkey, over a week ago now resulting in further search and rescue operations it in the rubble for survivors.

The soldiers can be heard saying soothing words like, "Do not be afraid, be a strong man," while performing checks on panicking villagers.

The event happened on the evening of 20th February, with six people said to have lost their lives in the second quake, thus increasing the fatalities rate to over 44,000 people and over 100,000 injured across the earthquake-affected regions in Turkey.

The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management affirmed that search and rescue teams from international bodies are still searching and rescuing bodies from under the rubble.

Hatay province is the southmost province in Turkey and one of the 11 provinces affected by the recent earthquake in southern Turkey.

Other provinces include Kahramanmaras, Adıyaman, Diyarbakır, Adana, Kilis, Osmaniye, Gaziantep, Malatya, and Şanlıurfa.
