My addiction kept me stuck in a severe shame, blame, anger cycle

Shame was controlling my life more than my addiction was. I lashed out, blamed others, and focused my anger on other people's wrongdoings, as a way of not looking honestly at my own actions. It took years to break out of my shame, blame, anger cycle, but once I did I felt infinitely freer. Breaking this horrible cycle was life-changing. I have so much more empathy for myself and others.
