Woodturning – Stone Vs. Wood

In this woodturning video, I will use some sapele segmented pieces to make a vase and inlaying Starbond turquoise stones to further enhance to look. I used Starbond thick super glue to secure the pieces into the grooves then the whole piece was casted in deep pour epoxy resin then turned to final shape on my woodturning lathe. I used negative rake carbide bits on the resin to ensure no chip outs. Once the piece was sanded up to 3000 grit I applied some polishing compound to bring it up to high gloss finish.
