What Made the game Dead Space 2 SO AMAZING?

Although the popularity of horror games has recently increased, long-time fans of the genre may recall a time when major releases in this field were scarce. With the diminishing quality of well-known survival horror series like Resident Evil and their trend toward deviating from their core concepts with each new installment, finding really spooky and unforgettable experiences was becoming increasingly difficult.
