These policies such as Broad-based black Economic Empowerment are seen as needed responses to the injustices of the apartheid past by its proponents & as racist policies of power consolidation by its critics.

Do policies such as Affirmative Action and complying with ESG (Environmental, social, and corporate governance) lead the United States down the same road?

The most horrifying of the South African political actions include calls for violence against Boers by supporters of the pan-Africanist and Marxist–Leninist EFF (Economic Freedom Fighters), a call that their president Julius Malema does not reject implementing in the future. The EFF is currently the third-largest party in both houses of the South African Parliament.

Currently South Africa has been governed by the ANC (African National Congress) for over 30 years since the end of apartheid, & with its current power crisis as well as an ever growing rift between the rich & poor, what will it take to get this nation on the right track?
