Home TV News Reba Show Revival Possibility Addressed By Star Star Steve Howey addresses a Reba revival possibility, with the Van actor having ideas for what he'd want to see from his character's adulthood. Reba 's revival possibility is being addressed by star Steve Howey. Howey played Van Montgomery from the beginning of the sitcom, which ran from 2001-07, and focused on the titular character and her fictional family. Van was Reba's son-in-law, and she takes him in once his parents kick him out for getting his girlfriend Cheyenne (JoAnna Garcia Swisher) pregnant. That helped to solidify a dynamic that delivered some of the show's best moments, contributing to the fact that the family sitcom still gets mentioned long after it concluded its run. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight , while promoting the debut of the new True Lies TV reboot, Howey was asked about the possibility of returning for a potential Reba revival. Howey seems to indicate that he isn't sure what the status of a Reba revival is, but it's clear from his response that he's eager to revisit the character of Van and work with Reba McEntire again. Howey's quote is below: "Yeah, I mean, I don't even know because when I played Van on that show, I was in my early 20s. And to see where Van is now and where the family is, I mean I would do anything. Reba says, 'Jump,' and I'll say, 'How high?'" What's Going On With The Reba Reboot? McEntire drew a lot of interest when she gave an update on the possibility of a Reba revival in August of late last year. Although she's spoken positively about the possibility of bringing back her popular sitcom, the country star has more recently cast doubt on whether any project would actually move forward. McEntire mentioned that there were a lot of obstacles in the way of making a Reba revival happen, including the changing and uncertain TV and streaming landscape. There's also the issue of making sure that the cast's schedules match up. Howey isn't the only one who would be happy to reprise his role. García Swisher has talked about how she would love to be part of a Reba reboot, explaining that it's a frequent topic of conversation with her former co-stars. Still, like McEntire, García Swisher seemed to suggest that it was an issue of finding the right avenue for the project. There have been mini-reunions in the meantime, as McEntire and Melissa Peterman, who played Barbra Jean, worked together on the Lifetime movie The Hammer. Between Howey, McIntire and García Swisher's comments, a Reba revival has a lot to factor in to its potential development, even in spite of the trio's willingness to return. However, with the modern world of TV finding success with modern revivals of classic sitcoms, including NBC's Night Court and the in-production Frasier sequel series, the door doesn't seem entirely closed for it to happen.
