Once upon a time, there was a woman named Willow who had branches for hair. In the summer, her branches were full of leaves and she felt truly happy and beautiful. But when winter came, her branches were bare and she felt sad and alone.

Willow would often say to herself, "Why must winter come and take away my leaves? I feel so lonely without them." One day, a group of birds flew by and noticed Willow feeling sad. They flew down to her and asked, "Why do you look so sad, fair-maiden?"

Willow replied, "Oh birds, I am sad because my branches are bare and I feel lonely without my leaves." The birds chirped and sang, "Fear not, dear Willow! We will keep you company during the winter."

And so, the birds and Willow became friends. They would spend the long, cold winter days together, the birds singing and chirping, and Willow listening with a smile on her face. Willow learned that even though her branches were bare, she was never truly alone as long as she had the birds by her side.

One day, Willow said to the birds, "Thank you for your friendship and for keeping me company during the winter. You have made this season so much more enjoyable." The birds chirped and sang, "It is our pleasure. We are happy to be your friends."

As spring approached, Willow's branches began to grow leaves once more. The birds flew away, saying goodbye until next winter. But Willow knew that she would never forget the kindness and friendship of the birds and that they would always be a special part of her life.

From that day on, Willow looked forward to the winter. She knew that the birds would be there to keep her company and that they would bring joy and happiness to her life, no matter how bare her branches may be.

One day, when winter was coming to an end, the birds said to Willow, "We must leave now, for spring has arrived and we have to go and look for food." Willow was sad to see her feathered friends go, but she knew that they would come back next winter.

Before the birds flew away, they left Willow with a gift. They had woven a delicate nest and placed it in her branches. Willow was overjoyed with the gift and she knew that the birds would always be with her, even when they were not physically there.

And so, Willow lived a happy life, surrounded by friends, both feathered and leafy. She learned that true beauty and happiness comes from within, and that the true measure of a person is the love and friendship they give and receive.
