GOD takes action and afflicts Abimelech with an illness and closes the wombs of all the women in his household. Then GOD appears to Abimelech in a dream, announcing that Abimelech will die for taking a married woman as his wife.
The LORD speaks to Abraham and says that his inheritance must pass to and through Isaac, not Ishmael. The LORD assures Abraham HE will still make a great nation of Ishmael, and so tells him to do what Sarah has asked.
