The trade war between the United States and China began in 2018 when President Trump imposed tariffs on Chinese imports in an effort to reduce the US trade deficit. In response, China retaliated with its own tariffs on US goods. As the trade dispute escalated, the two countries imposed higher and higher tariffs on each other's goods.

The logistics industry was particularly affected by the trade war. Companies had to figure out how to manage the tariffs, adjust their supply chains, and avoid costly disruptions. As the trade war continued, it became increasingly difficult and expensive for companies to do business between the two countries.

China, however, had a secret weapon in its arsenal. The Chinese government had been investing heavily in its logistics infrastructure over the past decade, and it was now reaping the benefits. China had built up an impressive network of ports, highways, railroads, and airports that allowed companies to quickly and efficiently move goods to and from the country.

This gave Chinese companies a major advantage in the trade war. They were able to quickly and cheaply move goods to and from the country, while US companies struggled to adjust their supply chains. This allowed Chinese companies to undercut their US competitors on price, making them the preferred supplier for many goods.
