The cultivation of Fukiran has a long history, originating in Japan’s Edo era, about 400 years ago. I am ashamed to not be able to do this marvellous group of orchids justice. Semi hydro was my next choice of set up, after not liking the way #sphagnummoss behaves in my dry climate, where I have to keep it constantly moist. This has a negative effect on the sphagnum moss, as it degrades very quickly resulting in me having to intervene and change the moss out every 6 months, disturbing the roots over and over again. In June 2022, I decided to also give them a semi hydro set up, seeing as my #Vandafalcata has been doing so well in the set up for the past 2 years. Meanwhile, these special edition Neofinetia falcatas are different, in that they grow very slowly. #orchids #vanda #orquideas #orchideen #semihydroponics #semihydro #seramis
