In this YouTube video, Dr. Justin Martini discusses the top three reasons for urinary tract infections (UTIs) and how to address them. UTIs are more common in women due to the shorter distance for bacteria to spread from the urethra into the bladder and kidneys. The risk of UTI is increased after sex, and an imbalance in the vaginal pH also plays a role.

Beneficial bacteria produce acid that makes it harder for bacteria to grow, so imbalances in pH can cause problems. E. coli is the most common UTI bacteria, while Gardnerella is associated with bacterial vaginosis. Yeast infections can have similar symptoms to BV, but odor and discharge can help differentiate them. Probiotics and hydration can help prevent UTIs, and it is also essential to avoid processed foods that can throw off the vaginal microbiome. Testing can be done to determine the presence of bacteria or yeast.

And if you found this information helpful, be sure to like and share this video to help spread awareness about UTIs and how to prevent and treat them.
