Giant Sinkhole in Manchester swallows car and destroys houses after storm Christoph

A large crater appeared on Walmer Street in Abbey Hey on Wednesday evening, after heavy rain and widespread flooding. A hole of around four square yards emerged in the middle of the residential street and trapped the rear end of a white five-door car. The road gave way following the collapse of a sewer, water and wastewater services United Utilities said

Several properties on the same street close to the sinkhole have suffered severe structural damage.
Large amounts of debris, including brickwork and glass windows, can be seen crumbled onto the pavement.
The front of the terraced homes, including upstairs and downstairs, has been left completely exposed.
Residents in four of the properties have been forced to evacuate from the area and no one was injured #News#Sinkhole#Breaking
