A well-known organ work composed sometime between 1703 and 1707. Apart from organ repertoire, this work has been used on numerous occasions in films or television, as well as by rock groups.
There are theories about whether this work was really written by Bach, since his style is very different from the rest of his works. Some attribute it to the fact that it is an early work by Bach, and for this reason it contains some elements that changed with Bach's compositional maturity. Others affirm that it is a piece to test the organs, due to its wide register and other characteristics.
