These are 5 of the most common traits of pathological da and avoidance.

This condition is an atypical autism condition that is sometimes co-occurring with an autism diagnosis but can be independent.

Here are 5 traits that you must see.

1.Resist and avoid everyday demands of life
A person with PDA will try and avoid any daily tasks that are demands of life, like washing, cleaning and general life skills.

2.Uses a wide range of avoidance tactics
People with PDA use clever tactics to avoid doing tasks, like pretending to be ill or make themselves busy with something else to counter act the task.

3.Appears sociable but lacks depth
Will mask in public to appear social but the conversation won’t be deep in it’s intent.

4.Comes across controlling and manipulative
As a PDA person is highly anxious they will try to control their environment which will come across as manipulative

5.Dislikes routine and structure
Contrary to autistic traits of, loving structure and routine, a person who has PDA will not enjoy the routine or structure.

I would love to know your thoughts on this topic as lots of people ask me about PDA and I think a conversation needs to happen.
