Attorney General Merrick Garland testifies before the Senate Judiciary Committee for the first time in the 118th Congress. The hearing is focused on oversight of the Department of Justice. Lawmakers are expected to grill Garland over his leadership of major Justice Department investigations, including the alleged mishandling of classified documents by President Biden, former president Donald Trump and former vice president Mike Pence. Garland has appointed two special counsels to separately oversee the investigations into Biden and Trump.
