About Psalm 91

Psalm 91 is a messianic Psalm.

It was quoted by the devil himself, even if he did twist its meaning, when he was testing Jesus in the desert.

The more it is studied and meditated upon, the more amazing its prophetic character becomes.

This Psalm also describes the security enjoyed by Godly men and women under God’s protection in the middle of perils on their journey through life.

Psalm Ninety One:

Psalm 91

1 Those who take shelter in the secret place of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

2 This I declare about the Lord: He is my refuge and my fortress,
he is my God, and I will trust him.

3 For he will deliver you from every trap
and protect you from deadly disease.

4 He will cover you with his feathers
and under his wings you will find shelter.
His faithfulness will be your armor and protection.

5 Do not fear the terrors of the night,
nor the arrow that flies in the day.

6 Do not fear the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the disaster that strikes at midday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
and ten thousand at your right hand
but these evils will not touch you.

8 With your eyes opened you will see
how the wicked are punished

9 Because you have made the Lord Most High your shelter,

10 no evil will befall you;
no plague will come near your home.

11 For he will command his angels to protect you
wherever you go.

12 They will carry you with their hands
so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.

13 You will trample upon the lion and the cobra;
and you will crush the dragon under your feet!

14 Because he loves me and knows my name says the Lord,
I deliver him and set him on high

15 When he’ll call on me, I will answer;
I will be with him in his trouble.
I will rescue him and honor him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him,
and I will show him my salvation.
