"There's nothing wrong with planning ahead ..."

Westminster gossip abounds, but as usual party chair, Sir Charles Bannister is the last to hear about it

"What bothers me about Tom Bowman is that he's a wild card. Nick's a joker. Put the two of them together and it could be dangerous, Charles."

"But I thought you liked him."

"He doesn't mean any harm, but that doesn't mean no one gets hurt."

Mary wants to know all about Nick - and Charles needs more info on Tom.

Meanwhile, Henry's concerned over the identity of his new boss...

Meanwhile Lady Mary is invited on TV to talk about her new book - and other things...

As the party gathers for the annual conference - Sir Charles Bannister is in the firing line - and must remind his wife Mary of her duties.

But has the deputy Chair's luck run out?
