Canadians are concerned about private health data amid new federal funding initiatives

Dear Marcum,
Justin Trudeau's latest multi-billion dollar plan to "modernize" the health-care system could pave the way to a permanent global digital ID program.
People are rightfully concerned — digital IDs were merely a "conspiracy theory" until the rapid global roll-out of vaccine passports and digital health passes during the so-called pandemic.
Almost as fast as you could say, "two weeks to flatten the curve," a bevy of provincial digital vaccine passports were thrust onto the population. These passports granted privileges we all used to enjoy, like going to a movie or a restaurant or flying on an airplane, only to the newly-minted medical class as a reward for getting their COVID injections.
Not only did this system segregate the population, but it also came with a myriad of privacy concerns.
What's more terrifying is that this aggressive push for digitizing our lives could form the backbone of a Communist China-style social credit system that will allow our government to wield even more power over every aspect of our lives.
It wouldn't be the first time they tried.
