The Delineation of Special Aspects

According to tradition, there are only five aspects in astrology as the Latin word aspectus denotes “look” or “sight”, and in case two planets cannot see each other they won’t be able to form aspects. In karmic astrology, we are interested whether or not there are any distinct numerical relationship between to celestial objects, thus we experiment with further divisions of the circle. This process was started by mathematician astronomer astrologer Johannes Kepler, who devised the quintile series, and after him the two karmic aspects (semi-sextile, quincunx), the novile and the septile series were also established. What’s more, the semi-sextile is an evolutionary tool as it links two signs that are next to each other. On March 4 a lot of these special aspects become exact.
