The series follows Clark Kent (played by Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois Lane (played by Elizabeth Tulloch) as they return to Smallville with their two teenage sons, Jonathan and Jordan. As Clark tries to balance his dual identities as Superman and a father, he also faces new challenges as he discovers a mysterious stranger threatening the town.

Throughout the series, Clark and Lois navigate the complexities of parenthood while also facing their own personal and professional obstacles. Various superhuman and non-superhuman threats to the people they care about, their community, and the planet are fought off by them.
