Ultimately, while managing the national debt is essential, the idea that the United States is "doomed" unless it's paid off or reduced is overly simplistic and does not fully capture the issue's complexity. The United States has indeed had a national debt since its founding, increasing over time. Moreover, reducing the debt is not necessarily the only or best solution to address concerns about it. In some cases, increasing revenue through taxation or reducing spending in certain areas may improve the country's financial situation more effectively.
