Teddy Roosevelt served as our 26th president and then hand-picked his successor, William Howard Taft who won the presidency in 1908. In the 1912 election Roosevelt ran the most successful third party campaign in history, but split the republican vote giving Woodrow Wilson the presidency with only 40% of the popular vote. This can be the scenario for Trump and DeSantis.
