Make Momos Recipe

Momos are a type of steamed dumpling that is a popular dish in many parts of South Asia. Here is a recipe for making momos:

Ingredients:

For the dough:

2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
Water, as needed
For the filling:

1/2 lb ground chicken or pork (or firm tofu for a vegetarian option)
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup finely chopped cilantro
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp grated ginger
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
Instructions:

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Slowly add water to form a soft and pliable dough. Knead the dough for 10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic. Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.

In a separate bowl, mix together the ground meat or tofu, onion, garlic, cilantro, soy sauce, ginger, and black pepper.

Roll out the dough into a long rope, and then cut it into small pieces. Roll each piece into a small, thin circle.

Place a tablespoon of the filling in the center of each circle.

To form the momos, bring the edges of the circle together over the filling, pleating the dough along the edge until the momo is completely sealed.

Repeat with the remaining circles and filling.

Place the momos on a steamer basket and steam them for 10-12 minutes, or until the dough is cooked through and the filling is hot.

Serve the momos with soy sauce or a spicy dipping sauce.
