Canada: Federal ministers announce green initiatives for govt suppliers – February 28, 2023

Federal ministers Steven Guilbeault (environment and climate change) and Mona Fortier (president of the Treasury Board) hold a news conference at a global sustainability conference in Toronto. They announce that as of April 1, companies that supply to the federal government will be required to disclose their greenhouse gas emissions and set reduction targets. The government will also move suppliers to use lower carbon concrete for federal construction projects.
