The Simplest Fix for a Sparking but Unlit Buddy Heater Pilot Light

Did you just buy a Buddy Heater, or did you recently hook up a new propane tank to one you brought out of storage? Either way, you may have run into an issue where it doesn't seem to be getting gas to light. Here are the most likely issues and solutions:

1. Hold the button down and let the gas run for up to a minute before sparking. Then, let it run (with the button pressed) while lit for thirty seconds or so, and the pilot should stay lit.
2. Use rubbing alcohol on a Q-tip to clean the pilot light gas port. Then, try step one again.
3. You may simply be out of propane.
These are the most common solutions I've found online for this problem. Hopefully, they'll help you get your Buddy Heater up and running!
