Flying boat 1930 implemented design abandoned

The world's largest flying boat provided more than 70 passengers with the superb service & luxury of an ocean liner (1930)
Probably it was abandoned because any strong wind or waves would tip the boat up. But i see this design working very well on lakes or calm rivers especially downstream where the flying boat could even be helped to rise up faster by the force of the river. It is not a bad ideea for lake to lake tourism and it can work in some areas for example the grand Lakes in USA the Danube Delta with its numerous lakes and the river...
