Why did Kosovo secede and become independent?

Kosovo, one of the world's youngest countries, had been part of Serbia for most of the 20th century, before fighting its way out of Serbian control in the late 1990's. Following this, in 2008, it declared independence, although Serbia still claims it as part of its territory. But why did Kosovo want to become independent? Find out in this video.
