How to Change Out an Old 2g Nail-on Box for a New 3g Pop-in Box

This is a more often than not kind of service call we can expect. Adding another receptacle, adding another switch: it is the same method employed. A good note when cutting into the drywall is to locate your stud. More than likely, the outlet box will be nailed to a stud on one side of the other. If you can't visibly see it, try to take your keyhole saw and run it up the sides of the box. You should be stopped by a nail or some type of fastener. Another good trick is to make your horizontal cut first.
