More Tiny Home Building Supplies And Fixing My Gokart

Tuesday I got some more building materials for my tiny home on wheels and I got my gokart running.

In the morning I went over to say hi to my neighbor and visit for a few minutes and told him about my roofing materials that were waiting for me at Lowes. I was talking about how my truck was still in the shop. He asked me if I wanted to ride up there because he was going anyway. I was surprised and not ready to go at this minute but hey, opportunity knocks.

We went to town and I picked up the metal roof and metal trim for my tiny house on wheels. The metal roof is cut to size for me already. That is pretty cool. All I have to do is put it up on my home. I got all the trim and color matching screws for the roof as well. The roof will be a nice dark forest green color.

While at Lowes I also picked up the plywood for my tiny house floor. This is 3/4 inch tongue and groove plywood sheeting. The plywood will be my actual floor in the tiny home to save weight. I am not going to be adding flooring on top of it. I got some colored screws, sand paper and shellac.

Shellac is a naturally occurring substance which is secreted by insects in India as it crawls around on trees. People scrape this off and add alcohol to it making the shellac we use on wood, fingernails, candy and more. It is all natural and safe to eat.

My home will be a green tiny house. This means that I plan to use all natural building materials in my tiny home. For the floor I am simply going to sand the plywood and coat it with shellac. The walls will be coated with beeswax and oil.

Even the insulation in the walls is all natural Rockwool mineral insulation.

It rained on and off again all day so I could not paint my tiny house trailer frame. The paint from Saturday is still not cured yet.

I worked on the gokart which has been sitting in the yard for a long time. I could not find the right inner tube for the tire. I finally found out that it is labeled funny and found the right tube after all this time.

I got the tube in the tire and inflated all the tires. Then I put the new carburetor on the gokart engine and fired it up. It ran so I then put it aside. I want to change the oil before I run it much. I did not want to waste anything on it though before I knew it would run. I will change the oil in the morning and try this thing out.
