Super Hot Something Cute And Foraging On The Off Grid Homestead

It was a super hot day at the off grid homestead Wednesday. We had a heat factor of about 104 degrees F. It made working hard going but I got a lot done anyway.

This is the second video from Wednesday. There are more to come. My internet speed is slowing down my uploads though.

In the early hours my neighbor came over to pick up a truck load of garbage that came out of the camper demolition. We loaded up the truck to overflowing with garbage bags and waste from the camper.

It looks a whole lot better out here now at the off grid homestead. He will be back another day for the rest of it but it started raining and has not stopped yet.

There is a bird nest under the roof of my wood stove shed. The nest has a bunch of newly hatched birds. I cannot tell yet how many but its a bunch of them. They are cute. Their eyes are not yet open. I cant wait to see how many there are but I dont want to bother them yet at this age.

I took a walk through my organic garden. It is doing well. My plants are growing very nicely this year. I am going to have a huge harvest of tomatoes and squash for sure. I have a huge amount of plants that came up from last year's fallen seeds.

I took a few minutes and sat down to eat a bit as I was pulling some weeds out. Actually I was eating some of the weeds from my garden. Most of the things we consider weeds today were herbs and vegetables to people of the past.

My fridge ran a full 5 hours non stop until I had to unplug it. The fridge never shut off at all. It is so hot out that the fridge is not able to cool down my food inside. I have it out on the porch where it is actually cooler than inside the RV. At night especially it cools down outside and the RV retains heat all through the night.

But the fridge is cheaply and poorly made and cannot cope with the higher temperatures of summer. I cannot insulate it because it has the cooling coils inside the side walls. It is a stupid design and I will never buy such a fridge again. It needs to have free air flow on all sides in order to work, wasting a lot of space.

It was so humid that you could see it in the air. The temperature was in the 90s with about 80 percent humidity. This made working hard going. But wait for the next video to see how much I actually got done.
