CHP helicopter tracks suspect who bailed out after a vehicle pursuit in Hiddenbrooke

Early this morning, our H-32 night shift crew responded to assist CHP - Solano with a vehicle pursuit. As the pursuit vehicle entered Fairfield, the driver accelerated to speeds in access of 100 mph. Due to the excessive speed, all ground officers terminated their involvement.

A short time later, the crew of H-32 located the vehicle in the area of Hiddenbrooke and I-80. As H-32 illuminated the vehicle, the driver attempted to flee, this time from the helicopter.

H-32 followed from above as the driver continued west on I-80 and into the city of Vallejo, where he ran off the road while exiting the freeway. The driver continued to flee, this time on foot. H-32 continued to follow from above using the FLIR camera.

With the assistance of the Vallejo Police Department, the driver was arrested.

This incident will be investigated by the Solano CHP office.
