Tiny House Building Materials And Installing My First Window

Monday I was finally able to get some more building materials. Later John came over and we installed the first window in my tiny house on wheels.

Payday finally arrived so I got some lumber and insulation for my tiny home. When I got home I started to install the cross bracing in between the wall studs. These keep the studs from twisting and also give support to the sheathing.

The supports were installed at every seam between two sheets of plywood sheathing on the outside on the tiny home. This allowed me to nail in from the outside and secure the sheathing better.

It also covers up the gaps and seams in the sheathing better from the inside.

When John arrived we finished up the cross bracing together.

It was getting very hot inside my tiny home so we cut out the first window to allow some cross ventilation.

We drilled holes from the inside of the frame and then used a circular saw to cut the window out neatly.

Then a reciprocating saw finished up the job nicely, leaving us with a perfect square opening for my first window.

We slid the window easily into the back wall of my tiny house and then sealed it in place.

It sure looks nice having a window in my tiny home on wheels now.
