Rainy Day And Stranded At The Off Grid Project ™
I had winds up to 55 MPH and heavy rain for days in a row. This caused flash flooding for many and muddy conditions in the meadow for me. I could not get my vehicles out. I was stranded.
My car has a leak in the cooling system so it is basically out of commission anyway. But when I tried to get it out, it just kept sliding sideways downhill, towards the trees. I was afraid I would slam the car into the trees and damage it so I worked it back into its safe parking space.
The truck license plate had been demolished by the boat trailer a while ago and I just never messed with it.
I was not even able to walk in the sloppy mud safely. Everything was flowing and sliding downhill.
The rain was so heavy though that I now have 275 gallons of rain water. The rain water tank is topped off fully.
I cancelled my propane delivery because I am sure the big heavy truck would not be able to make it here at all.
The wind was so strong that it blew the propeller blade off my little wind turbine that was still mounted to the RV. I think the wind was blowing from behind the wind turbine and actually unwound the propeller from the shaft. It will be an easy fix.
I went out and filled some 5 gallon buckets with rain water so I have some in reserve. Each morning the water tank valve is frozen solid and I cannot get any water out for myself or the chickens. I also left the water hose end inside the water bucket. This will keep it from freezing on me.
I spent a lot of time inside the tiny house on wheels working on videos and comments. I managed to get two videos live in a day. That is good because I was falling behind again.
In the evening I fired up the little HF 800 watt generator and used my battery charger on automatic mode to keep my battery bank inside the tiny house charged up while I worked on the computer.
The HF 2 cycle generator is running longer now that I put in a homemade head gasket. It is actually managing to run up to 10 hours on full load with a tank of gas. That is literally double what it was getting from the factory. This is quite amazing and I am very happy with the results.
I have a few items on my new book shelf in the off grid tiny house already. It is looking quite beautiful now.
