Drum roll please - - - Framing My Tiny House Walls

Finally the day has come. Everyone is holding their breath. Will Troy get his tiny home built before winter? Or not? Lets see.

My framer/carpenter/friend/helper (had to put all those words in there to appease some people ;)

arrived to help out at The Off Grid Project at about 2pm. We got right to work and prepared our tools and equipment for building the off grid tiny house on wheels.

One of the cool things about this tiny home is that all the tools used were off grid hand tools or battery operated power tools. I charge my batteries using solar power. This is a truly green house from the ground up.

I think it is very fitting to build an off grid tiny home using all off grid tools and equipment.

We worked pretty fast and had one wall finished in no time. Of course it was just a matter of framing a single wall with nothing special in between. We made a mirror image of that one right afterwards.

Then we decided to build the long walls in two halves each so that we could handle them. I am happy we did because they are heavy and unruly.

We first build the tall sided long wall half with no windows or cutouts.

Next we built the two back wall halves. These also have no special cut outs or framing. The windows I will use are going to be 24 inches square so they will fit right into the framing with ease.

It is very exciting watching the walls of my tiny home take shape. I am so anxious to get inside my new tiny home. I cant wait to have it all build and get in there. I have so many ideas for building the kitchen cabinets, paneling the interior and how I will decorate and furnish the place.
