Payday For The Lumber Yard Job Wind Turbine Tower And Wood

Thursday was pay day for my lumber yard job. Finally the work is finished and I get the materials I was promised. A wind turbine tower and wood to build my tiny house with.

The first thing I picked up was the materials to build a 60 foot high wind turbine tower. I got 17 twelve foot long by four foot wide sections of commercial shelving. I can go up about 200 feet with a single side or double them up and make a strong rectangular tower 60 feet high. I prefer the strong tower and hope to eventually have four wind turbines up there.

My solar panels will also be mounted on the tower, off the ground.

After unloading the commercial shelving units I was taking a look at my tiny house frame when I saw two baby deer just about 50 feet away from me in the woods.

I went back to the lumber yard to get my wood to build the tiny home with. But sadly I discovered that all of the wood was dry rotting and full of bugs inside the pallets. These are pallets of wood inside the shed of the old lumber yard.

I had previously inspected them and they looked fine from the outside. They were wrapped in thick wire bands so browsing at the time, before finishing my job, was not really an option. And I had no idea the wood would be rotten inside the warehouse.

So the owner felt bad and we looked around for something I can use. He gave me a full pallet of 4x8 sheets of tongue and groove plywood. This is very useful for many projects so I took it.

I also get to pick through five huge pallets loaded with computer equipment. I can take all I want for free. For now I grabbed a few flat screen monitors to test out. I will sell them if they work.

I will also continue to visit this place in the future to pick up free wood pallets. He will give me any cracked or damaged pallets. This will probably mean about a truck load every week. This is burning wood, building materials, furniture making wood and more.

I am satisfied with my pay but sad that I did not get 2x4s to build my house with.

I will just keep trying to sell something so I can build my tiny house on wheels.
