Viewing My Military Photos A Bit Of History On Troy From The Off Grid Project N16

I recently found my old military photos while sorting through some boxes in my storage tent. Since Veterans day just went by, I figured it would be nice to share some memories with you of my time in the military.

I found one of my old photo albums. I have been living out of boxes for the most part for many years now and my photos have sadly just been kept in boxes as well. Since I never really settle in one spot for very long, I never unpacked anything.

But now that I have a tiny house on wheels, I can set up my stuff and bring out my memories once and for all.

I thought it would be cool to show you some of my photos of the time when I was in the Army.

These photos go through my time in Basic Training at Fort Knox, KY to Fort Hood TX and then off to Friedberg Germany.

I had some good times and some bad ones in the Army. I got to see Hitler's training grounds and the bunker where he watched over the soldiers on the field below.

Actually the US Army has possession of that training field now.

I walked through deserted towns with buildings riddled full of bullet holes. Hitler had relocated entire villages to clear the way for his training grounds. You can still see the bullet holes in the buildings.

It is sort of sad to think that these were the homes of villagers at one time.

I also walked through the trenches of WWI and II. I sat in bunkers that Hitler had set up.

I have some awesome memories and experiences of my time in the Army.

I hope you enjoyed the walk down memory lane with me.

I served from 94 to 96 in Ft Hood, TX and then from 96 to 98 in Friedberg, Germany.

I was in 1/67 Armor, 2nd AD "Hell On Wheels" at Ft Hood, TX and then in 2/67 Armor, 1st AD "Old Ironsides" in Germany.
