Cooking With Troy Fresh Garden Meal On The SilverFire Hunter Biomass Stove

So many people have asked for me to do a cooking video so here it is. I cooked a fresh garden meal on my SilverFire Hunter biomass stove using almost all fresh organic home grown garden ingredients.

I picked up some chicken breasts and some cheese from the deli for the meal. The rest came from my own garden. It sure feels good to have my own herbs and garden vegetables.

I first sliced up some tomatoes and broke up some basil leaves over the top. Some baby onions went over the tomatoes and then some oil, salt and pepper. On top I broke up some cheese and then put that all aside to soak up the flavors.

The chicken received some sage and hot spicy oregano from my garden along with some onions and zucchini on the side. Some oil and salt and pepper was added for flavor.

I put all of this aside as well while I got the SilverFire Hunter stove ready for cooking.

Today I used some chunks of pallet wood scrap that I had laying around from breaking up some pallets. These are heat treated (HT) and not chemically treated. Do not ever burn chemically treated wood for anything. If the pallet is stamped HT then it is safe for cooking or as a fuel source.

Another caution when using pallet wood is to be sure of it source before using it as a fuel source. These pallets were used one time only and were perfectly clean. Some pallets may have harmful chemicals spilled on them. Be careful.

The SilverFire Hunter stove burns just about any flammable fuel such as grass, twigs, wood, corn husks, pine cones and more.

I got the fire going and warmed up the stove. Then I put on the food. Almost immediately the food was steaming and cooking. This is a very efficient stove.

I had to add some water to my chicken because it was so lean. This keeps it from burning while it cooks. The SilverFire stove cooks quite hot. You can regulate it some by closing the damper on the front of the stove.

I put a lid on the wok to keep in the moisture while it cooked.

After a few minutes, I was enjoying a very nice fresh meal.
