Making A Butcher Block Style Kitchen Counter Top In My Tiny House S35

Thursday I played around with ideas to make my own tiny house kitchen counter top. In the end I used scraps of my homemade paneling to make a butcher block style counter top.

I wanted to use hard wood pallets boards to make my kitchen counter top but they are too warped and uneven. They are warped in all directions and just about impossible to use for my kitchen counter.

I studied some videos online about gluing boards together and tried gluing some of my scrap paneling together. This turned out to be messy and complicated. The boards did turn out nicely though but it takes too much work to get a section of wood ready.

In the end I used some of my homemade paneling scraps and just glued them directly onto the plywood of the kitchen counter. Then I used my brad nailer to secure them well.

By the time I got one section of the tiny house counter top done, it was getting late so I called it a night.

I think it looks nice. With proper care and wood preservative, I think my new tiny house butcher block counter will last many years.
