Finishing Tiny Home Window Framing And Cutting Firewood S24

Tuesday I finished framing the inside of my tiny house living room window and the window ledge. I spent the rest of the day cutting fire wood for my off grid homestead this winter.

To frame in the window I simply used some scrap wood and a table saw to cut the right sized pieces to fill in around the window frame. This closed in the gaps between the window and the walls where you can see spray foam insulation.

Then I cut some of my homemade paneling to fit like a picture frame around the window on the inside. The window sill is not yet finished so I just slid it into place for now and left it there. It fits snugly. Later I want to sand it down and round off the edges.

I spent the rest of the day cutting fire wood from dead standing trees to use to heat my tiny house on wheels this winter.

I worked until dark cutting trees and splitting and stacking logs on wood pallets out in the sun to dry out.

I figure the dead standing trees will dry fast enough and provide heat for this winter.

The trees I cut in the spring are not yet cured so they will not be ready yet for this fall.
