Tim and I finished felling the 8 trees in front of my tiny house. You can find Tim's channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/douglasfi2re

We had to cut all these trees in order to allow more sunlight to reach the solar panels in front of my off grid tiny house on wheels.

The peak sunlight hours in front of the tiny house are during the afternoon and the sun is hitting the front of the house. But the trees were shading the area most of the day, filtering out the light which could be used to produce power for my tiny home.

Another reason for cutting down these trees is to lower the summer humidity in the tiny house and increase passive winter solar heating.

In summer the shade of the trees fully blocked my old camper which was parked on this spot. This caused the camper to be cooler but also very damp and dark. This was perfect for mold and mildew growth. It made a mess of everything. I had to wash the walls and cabinets down constantly to prevent the spread of the mildew. It was everywhere.

Another reason is in winter I will get more heat from the sun hitting my passive solar porch.

The porch will be built in front of my tiny home to block summer heat from hitting the house but in winter it will be a passive solar heating porch.

I have plans to mount my solar panels on the roof of the porch to catch maximum sunlight during all seasons.
