Built In Storage Under Tiny House Bathroom Sink

I built a shelf under the tiny house bathroom sink. I used mostly recycled materials or scraps of wood to build this shelf so it took a bit longer than normal.

The bathroom sink drain J trap is leaking right from the store. I am not sure why but I need to get it sealed up so I can use the bathroom sink. There was no gasket in the kit and none was intended for this part.

I am thinking about a bead of silicone around it to see if that helps.

I framed in the shelf under the bathroom sink using scraps of 2x2 wood that I had left over from previous projects.

Then I fit in a piece of OSB that I also got for free from the small engine shop. These are used one time as shipping crates for small engines and lawn mowers. I also get a lot of 2x2 and 2x3 and 2x4 lumber from there that I use in framing in my cabinets and shelves in the tiny house on wheels.

It was a tight fit but I got the shelf in place.

Now I will keep my tools under the bathroom sink. It is the best place for me because I only have one cleaning supply and that is a spray bottle of vinegar. This cleans the toilet, floor, sinks and everything. Even cat mistakes.

So the storage under the sink is perfect for my tools, as I said.

There is room under the shelf for the cat litter box and their food bag. I wish I could turn the cat litter sideways and have more space but it is just a little bit too tight for that.

I will put a door on on the cabinet under the sink and have a hole for the cats to enter and exit. This will keep the litter spills inside the area and off the bathroom floor.

I will put a special mat in front of the cat litter which captures the junk from the cats paws as they walk across it and traps it in the mat, keeping it off the floor.
