Felling Trees In Front Of My Tiny House To Improve Solar Power Output

helped me cut down some trees in front of my tiny house on wheels. We had put up some more solar panels in front of the house and needed to cut down some trees in order to allow more sunlight to reach the solar panels.

Tim is an expert tower and rock climber (and tree climber it seems). So he scrambled up the trees and cut the lower branches as needed so that the trees would fall without tangling on one another.

Tim also went up a ladder and into the trees to fasten a rope as high as he could safely reach. This rope was to be used to give us leverage to pull the tree in the direction we wanted it to fall as I was cutting the tree down.

This system worked out very well. 6 out of 8 trees fell right on top of one another. It was so cool seeing them fall right in place. We had a narrow space between the chicken coop and the tiny house for the trees to fall into. This is why I never cut down the trees alone to this day.

Tim was bold enough to jump right in so we got cutting.
