John & I Putting Sheet Metal On The Off Grid Battery Shed

While John was over the other day we put sheet metal on the new shed roof that we framed. This is my solar battery and rain water shed.

We had just finished framind in the roof with reclaimed lumber. We used old barn wood 2x6 lumber for the rafters and scrap 2x4 lumber for cross bracing in between the rafters. I am not usung sheathing under the roofing sheet metal so I need the cross bracing to support it well.

I am in Northern climate so Ihave to deal with winter snow load.

We first put all the metal sheets in place on the roof to see how they fit and how theygo together. They are sold

I was nervous getting up there because of having used old lumber. I was not sure how strong it was.

But the roof framing held me just fine. There was not even any creaking in the wood under me.

I put a piece of plywood on the framing to hold me up safely as I worked on fastening the metal roof sheets one by one.

The new off grd solar shed roof looks very good now.

Thank you again John for the help.
