Wheeling & Dealing A New Adventure Begins

I have been trading and selling small engines and equipment in order to trade up to get a Jeep. I have wanted a Jeep for a few years now. Many of you may remember when I almost traded my truck for a Jeep, which I am happy did not happen now. The truck is a great tool out here at the off grid homestead.

But the truck is not the best bug out and survival vehicle because it is my main work horse. It is my main tool that I use on a daily basis out here on the homestead. This means that the equipment I need for bugging out, camping or survival are always stashed in a trailer or in the survival camper. I no longer use the survival camper for the same reason. I am always loading the truck up with work related stuff so it is never available for camping or bugging out.

I did a video series titled "Pimp My Survival Bug Out Vehicle" which was a hit. A couple friends and I build a bug out vehicle in the back of my truck in a weekend. I had my fiberglass camper top on the truck and we decked it out with everything you need for survival. Everything could be folded and put away or set up as needed in a hurry. The big problem is that I cannot get the fiberglass shell on the truck myself in a hurry so it is not practical as a bug out vehicle.

I have always wanted to have a dedicated bug out vehicle. The survival truck camper served that purpose for many years but now it is inconvenient to get onto this truck. My current truck is too high and the jacks are wobbly at their fullest extension. So again, I cannot get the survival truck camper loaded alone.

I had looked at a Jeep a couple years ago, as said above. Since them I have always kept my eye on them.

I finally found a Jeep for next to nothing. I did some dealing and trading to get this Jeep at no cost to The Off Grid Project.

I will be building this Jeep in the the ultimate bug out and survival vehicle through both The Do It Yourself World website and TR Tech Tactical & Survival YouTube channel.

I plan to turn this Jeep into a rolling camper package fully loaded with everything you need to survive long term anywhere at any time. At a moments notice I will be able to turn the key and bug out, taking everything I need with me. When I get to my bug out or camping location, I park, turn off the key and settle in for the night.

This Jeep is in good shape on the outside and the engine starts and runs with the flick of the key. But the interior is why I got this Jeep for next to nothing. There is no interior.

The previous owner had stripped out the entire interior of the vehicle in order to do repairs and body work. He put in a complete galvanized floor himself from front to back. He pulled many of the body parts such as the bumpers and front grille parts and sand blasted and painted them.

I plan to put a folding bed in the back of the jeep running from front to back. Underneath I will have storage space.

On the opposite side I will have a pull out kitchen with running water, stove, storage space, rain water collection and more.

This bug out vehicle will be fully loaded with all the comforts of home on the road.

I plan to build the survival bug out Jeep with the help of sponsors. I plan to have a luggage rack on the top, new bumpers with brush guards, electric winch, raised suspension, fog lights and spot lights for off road use.

I will paint the Jeep OD green with black trim and bumpers. This will help me keep it hidden in the woods but still look somewhat normal on the streets. There are many hunter's vehicles painted in this manner on the roads around here.

The mods and work done on the vehicle will be shared on video on TR Tech Tactical & Survival and shared in DIY articles showing every detail of the work on www.TheDoItYourselfWorld.com website.

Many Of Many Thingz and I have long been talking about getting a survival group together to actually go out and do things. We are putting together a list of like minded people who will join us on off road outings and survival trips with our bug out vehicles.

We will record our adventures and share them with you through YouTube.

I hope you all join me for the adventure.
