Installing My Tick Free Chicken Zone Fencing

I am continuing on with the installation of my tick free zone around the meadow by using chicken wire and electric fence to protect the chickens which will then free range and eat the ticks.

There have been nearly constant thunder storms out here recently so the work is going slower than I had hoped. My solar charge controller has recently been hit by lightning quite a bit so I have to shut things down and disconnect the charge controller quite often.

Since the lightning seems to be traveling very long distances to get to me, it may be traveling through iron deposits in the ground. Therefore I am not going out during thunderstorms to work on the chicken wire fence.

I have managed to get the first 150 feet of chicken wire installed. This is taking some time also due to the fact that I have to clean out debris from the pack of the wire. I have to trim branches and cut small trees out of the way. I have to move logs, branches and brush as well. There are many rocks in the path too that need to be moved so I can put up the fence.

I will keep working on this as weather permits until the entire project is finished. This is currently my top priority.

The garden is the next project and I am working on that during evenings when it gets too dark to work in the woods easily.
